A series of summer nature day camps will be held at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve at Saint Vincent College for children ages 5 to 8.

Children age 5 will “go buggy” along the tall grasses, trails and pond edges in search of spiders, beetles, butterflies and more. Bug Camp runs Tuesday, June 25 to Thursday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to noon with an adult. Cost is $50/child.

Fur and Feathers Camp for children age 6-7 will take flight Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn about song-birds, birds of prey and other birds native to Pennsylvania, along with mammals that inhabit the region.

New this year, children ages 7-8 may attend Slime and Scales Camp, Monday, July 22 to Friday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to noon and investigate the slimy and scaly world of amphibians and reptiles. Native toads, salamanders, frogs, turtles and snakes will visit throughout the week as children learn about these cold-blooded creatures. Cost for 6-8 year-old camps is $100/child.

Registration is being conducted now through Monday, June 10 for Bug Camp, and now through Sunday, June 30 for all other camps. General registration forms and additional information are available at www.wpnr.org
