Fifty-One Persons Inducted into Biology Honor Society

Fifty Saint Vincent College students and one staff member were inducted at the third initiation ceremony of the college’s chapter of Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) National Biological Honor Society at the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion on April 5.

TriBeta is a society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

New regular members include Kierstin Ackinclose, a junior biology major from Greensburg; Michael Almasy, a sophomore biology major from Latrobe; Vincent Anto, a junior biochemistry major from Ligonier; Constantine Barlamas, a sophomore biology major from Conway; Megan Blake, a junior environmental science major from Altoona; Ellen Boller, a sophomore biology major from Latrobe; Benjamin Carnahan, a senior biology major from Avonmore; Michael Centore, a junior biochemistry major from Canonsburg; Anna Christy, a junior environmental science major from Sarver; Jennifer DeSalvo, a sophomore biology major from Pittsburgh (15205); Charles Fencil, a sophomore biochemistry major from Mount Pleasant; Brittany George, a sophomore biology major from Gettysburg; Patrick Hiles, a sophomore biology major from Connellsville; Brandon Holmes, a junior biology major from Sutersville; Jenna Koshar, a sophomore biology major from Latrobe; Ashley Kovall, a sophomore biology major from Patton; Zachary Ligus, a junior biochemistry major from North Huntingdon; Chelsea Marsh, a sophomore biology major from Latrobe; Natalie Nakles, a sophomore bioinformatics major from Latrobe; Michael Orange, a sophomore biology major from Latrobe; Candace Scanga, a sophomore biology major from Gibsonia; Kelley Sedlock, a junior biology major from Northern Cambria; Alex Smaracheck, a sophomore biology major from Charleroi; Carissa Smith, a junior biochemistry major from Mercer; Charles Smith, a sophomore biology major from Hancock, Md.; Jessica Smrekar, a junior biology major from North Huntingdon; Conor Sterling, a sophomore bioinformatics major from York; Bruce Stropko, a sophomore physical therapy major from Sayre; Robert J. Tokarski II, a junior biochemistry major from Pittsburgh (15216); Brianna Toth, a freshman biology major from Ebensburg; Michael Wasko, a senior biology major from Coal Township; Justin Wells, a senior environmental science major from Greensburg; Myria Wendel, a freshman biology major from Blairsville; MeKenleigh White, a junior biochemistry major from Latrobe; Regina Woloshun, a junior biochemistry major from Latrobe; and Tyler Young, a junior biology major from Cecil.

New associate members include Hannah Becker, a freshman biology major from North East; Kristina Boburka, a junior biology major from Pittsburgh (15205); Teresa Bukowski, a freshman biology major from Greensburg; Adam Golian, a junior biology major from Valley City, Ohio; Erica Johns, a freshman biology major from Butler; Esther Love, a freshman biology major from Claysburg; Patrick McGee, a freshman biology major from New Holland; Gerald Ngo, a freshman biology major from Lititz; Noelle Patrick, a freshman biology major from Patton; Kara Rhine, a freshman biology major from Kittanning; Alyson Rusak, a freshman biology major from Sarver; Adam Tran, a freshman physical therapy major from Mystic, Conn.; Kayla Uveges, a freshman biology major from Cresson; and Kyanna Williams-Pate, a freshman biology major from Pittsburgh (15235).

Inducted as honorary member was Dr. Matt Fisher, associate professor of the chemistry department in the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing.
