SBDC hosts 'Strategic HR Simplified' on June 12

Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering the seminar Strategic HR Simplified, on Thursday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at Saint Vincent College.

David J. Baker, author of The Everything HR Kit, paves the way to better HR understanding by breaking down the HR process, presenting valuable information on employment laws and regulations, as well as best practices that attract, hire and retain employees.

Pre-employment recruitment topics include preliminary tools, recruitment, the interview process, conducting the interview, assessment, reference checking, drug testing and immigration. Post-employment topics include new-employee orientation, employee handbooks, federal labor laws, performance management, discipline, termination, reductions in force and exit procedures.

Baker is founder, president and managing director/CEO of Human Capital Advisors. He has 30 years of corporate and entrepreneurial human resources and business experience spanning multiple industries.

Fee for this program is $65 and includes The Everything HR Kit book and continental breakfast. Registration is required.
