Thirteen Saint Vincent College students recently returned from a 12-day pilgrimage to Rome, the seventh annual journey sponsored by the College’s Office of Campus Ministry.

The highlight of the May 14 to 25 journey was attendance at a general audience with Pope Francis.

They also had the opportunity to visit the four major basilicas in Rome and enjoy a tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. While the group was at St. Paul's Basilica they joined the Benedictine Monks for Vespers followed by a meeting with Abbott Edmund, O.S.B. On one of the mornings they celebrated Mass in the Chapel of the Patrons of Europe in the Grotto beneath St. Peter’s Basilica. Other Benedictine sites were Subiaco, Monte Cassino and San Pietro Monastery in Assisi. Also, part of the group visited Tivoli on their own as Fr. Killian Loch, O.S.B, took some to the Catacombs of St. Sebastian, while others took a day trip to Florence.

The group was accompanied by Fr. Killian Loch, O.S.B., Director of Campus Ministry, and Dr. Nancy Rottler, Opportunity Program Director.
