Dr. Charles Fazzi, center, professor of business administration at Saint Vincent College, was awarded the 2009 R.L. Sosnowski Faculty Advisor of the Year Award for his superior stewardship of Saint Vincent College’s Theta Tau chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the international honor society in business. The award is given annually to one individual in the nation who has demonstrated dedication and commitment to the sustained development of their institution’s chapter. The presentation was made in the Robert S. Carey Student Center’s Performing Arts Center at the annual town meeting of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government by Jason Brinker, right, a senior management major from Latrobe who is vice president of the Saint Vincent chapter, and Dr. Gary M. Quinlivan, left, professor of economics and dean of the School. Dr. Fazzi will accompany the chapter’s officers to the biennial Delta Mu Delta conference in November in St. Louis where he will also be installed as the president of the national board of directors for 2009-2011. Dr. Fazzi was elected to the national executive council of Delta Mu Delta as a regional representative for region 2 in 2004. In 2007 he was elected vice president of extension and development and has regularly attended the national board of directors meetings. Moderator of the Saint Vincent chapter since 2003, he has been responsible for creating an active and successful chapter. In 2008, he received a five-year Delta Mu Delta faculty service award and, for three consecutive years, the chapter has attained the Star Chapter Award which is presented annually to outstanding chapters. Business student membership in Delta Mu Delta is reserved for those who are juniors or seniors, in the top 20% of their classes and who have attained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
