Saint Vincent College Marketing Matrix, a collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association, presented a preliminary marketing audit to Jeffrey Lutz, owner of the Pain Treatment and Wellness Center (PTWC) in Greensburg. President Zachary Parkhill, a junior, and Vice President Emma Ravis, a senior, both marketing majors, gave the presentation. The Marketing Matrix performs consulting work for local businesses as a way of fundraising for club activities and membership costs.

“Our low-cost services provide valuable marketing recommendations to small businesses that may not be able to afford more expensive alternatives,” Mr. Parkhill explained. “In addition, performing consulting work provides enthusiastic marketing majors at Saint Vincent College with the opportunity to apply their marketing skills in a ‘real world’ setting.”

The Club provided an overview of potential customer segments for PTWC and offered recommendations regarding appropriate marketing programs for each. The audit was organized around the 4P’s of marketing – products, price, place and promotion. “Our analysis and recommendations center on creating brand awareness for PTWC’s unique services, and engendering positive word of mouth and customer loyalty,” Mr. Parkhill commented.

The presentation to PTWC involved approximately 20 club members’ insights. Dr. Thomas Cline, club advisor and associate professor of marketing, provided guidance and direction throughout the analysis process and performed a final edit of the deliverable marketing audit. As a professional marketing consultant, Dr. Cline ensures that all club projects exceed the clients’ expectations.
