Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center will be offering two workshops on the accounting software package, QuickBooks®.
QuickBooks® Made Easy seminar will be held on Tuesday, June 24. This program is designed for individuals and businesses that have recently purchased the accounting system, QuickBooks®, or for those who would just like to become more efficient in processing their day-to-day work. The seminar will also provide resource material and information that will broaden QuickBooks® skills and answer common questions. Topics include setting up a company file, defining and modifying the chart of accounts, setting up and editing new vendors and customers, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, entering manual checks, applying cash receipts and deposits and preparing a bank reconciliation and financial reports. Basic knowledge of QuickBooks® is beneficial. The presenter will also answer specific questions concerning a particular business or situation.
QuickBooks® Advanced will be held on Tuesday, July 29. This program is intended for individuals who are familiar with QuickBooks® and have used it in the past, but would like to become more proficient in its various capabilities. Topics include working with inventory, processing and accounting payroll, using estimates and time tracking, tracking and working with accounts payable, analyzing financial data, customizing forms and letters, tracking asset and liability accounts, preparing bank reconciliations, financial reports and creating checks.
The workshops are presented by Dennis Piper and Associates, a firm that specializes in working closely with small to mid-size companies to develop, train, and enhance accounting processes through this software.
Both programs will be held at Saint Vincent College from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The fee for the program is $45. There is a discounted fee of $40 per person when two or more people attend or if a person is registering for more than one program. Included with the registration fee is a one-year subscription (12 issues) to Inc. magazine, valued at $10.
