Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center will host a seminar titled Maximize Your Marketing on Tuesday, July 8. The seminar is designed for businesses that want to improve marketing efforts and competitive edge. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. This seminar, designed for new businesses, as well as those which have been marketing for years, will demonstrate how planning and utilizing a customized marketing mix will increase business and bottom line. Attendees will gain an understanding of basic market principles, and how to apply these principles to gain a competitive edge, as well as learn what goes into a marketing plan and how to use that plan as a working tool. Topics that will be covered include market planning – figuring out what the best strategy will be; the format of a marketing plan, and why it is important; a mission statement – what is it and why is it important; and planning a marketing mix – how to add value to marketing efforts and how to separate from competition. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of what should be included in their marketing mix and how that can lead their company to success. The Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center is part of a statewide system of university-based economic development organizations, whose mission is to provide high-quality education and consulting to entrepreneurs, to help them start and grow their businesses in the competitive global economy. The fee to attend this seminar is $45 or $40 each person for two or more attendees, which includes continental breakfast, materials, and an optional one-year subscription (12 issues) to Inc. magazine, valued at $10.
