Four prominent speakers were guests of the Alex G. McKenna School of
Business, Economics, and Government October 7 for its annual Civitas
Forum on Principles and Policies for Public Life at Saint Vincent
College’s Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center.
Program participants included, from left, Jennifer Marshall, executive
director of domestic policy studies, Heritage Foundation; William
Voegeli, visiting scholar, Claremont McKenna College’s Henry Salvatori
Center for the Study of Individual Freedom in the Modern World; Randy
Simmons, political science professor and department head at Utah State
University; Kevin Ryan, director of education and communication of the
Vermont Bar Association; Dr. Bradley C.S. Watson, Philip M. McKenna
Professor of American and Western Political Thought at Saint Vincent,
program coordinator; and William H. Byrnes, Jr., a 1975 graduate of
Saint Vincent College who heads the F.M. Kirby Foundation, sponsor of
the event.
