Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center will host a
workshop on computer security issues on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The
workshop will be held at Saint Vincent College from 9 a.m. to 12 noon,
with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The seminar will demonstrate why there is more to security than
an anti-virus program. Those who are concerned about computer security
are invited to attend this seminar to learn about firewalls,
anti-spyware, anti-spam and other programs to keep information safe. Joe Polk, senior technical specialist with the Pennsylvania
Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP), will present this program. Mr.
Polk provides technology and technical assistance to organizations and
businesses in southwestern Pennsylvania.
To register for the workshop, contact the Saint Vincent College
Small Business Development Center at 724-537-4572 or
sbdc@stvincent.edu. The fee for the seminar is $40 or $35 per person
for two or more attendees. Price includes continental breakfast,
materials and an optional one-year subscription (12 issues) to Inc.
magazine, valued at $10. The Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center is
part of a statewide system of university-based economic development
organizations, whose mission is to provide high quality education and
consulting to entrepreneurs, to help them start and grow their
businesses in the competitive global economy.
