Call to order- 6:02 PM Prayer- Green Excused- Keeler, Puglisi, Marsheral, Socrates, Davanzo, Fuhrman, McAndrews, Mortimer Unexcused- Clark Minutes approved Public- Alif, Stevens, Wagner President’s Report- Walz reminded senate that Founder’s Day is this Thursday at 4 PM. Senate is required to march at Convocation. An email pertaining to this should be sent out by Monday to inform all of congregation time. Congratulated Junior class with their hard work and success of Cotillion. The Alumni Reunion dinner was a great success on Saturday with a wide range of alumni in attendance. Monday petitions will go out for Executive Board positions. Three semesters on the senate are required for President and Vice President; only two for Treasurer and Secretary. Fr. Myron approached Walz about funding students for the volleyball game 17 November. The price is $2 per student. Motion given by DiAlesandro to fund students for volleyball game; seconded by Conway. Motion carries with unanimous senate approval. Next week senate will be voting on next Programming Board Chair. Also, next week, the meeting will be moved back 15 minutes because the abbot will be saying mass in the student chapel. This week there will be a continuation of Dr. Cline’s marketing strategy at SFAB. Walz met with Williams about the Alfred computer lab and getting it opened 24 hrs/day. Currently he is looking into it, but funding from SGA will probably be required. The pool tables are going to be refinished over Christmas break and Walz wants to put the bearcat paw on it. The total cost is $858, but Zawaki has agreed to put $300 toward the cause. Cheplic gave motion to provide the funds; seconded by Palcsey. Opposed by DiAlesandro. Motion carries. Lights in lot Q extension will be put in over Thanksgiving and the lights in Melvin Platz should then be up shortly thereafter. Caridi, Walters, and the Recreation committee are in the talking phase of building a recreation center behind the Carey Center. The work study pay was looked into and the accountants figured out that it would cost the school an extra $15 000/year for supplies to pay all students twice a month. Deely and Walz have been working on implementing an oath for new members to say when they join the senate and individually for new exec board members with the intentions of adding it to the Constitution. Mihalco gave the motion to put the oath in the Constitution as is; seconded by DiAlesandro. Opposed by Wichryk, Scheuermann, Stewart, Smith, and Babusci. Motion carries. Results of the library project are posted. At the last SFAB meeting of the semester the results will be presented to Br. David Kelly. Asked senate to talk to the public to get their response on the issue. Wagner made the offer deadline for Dashboard Confessional to be Friday at 4 PM. Puglisi met with Food Services and new buns will be in the Shack for the subs. Tuesday from 12-5 there will be a furniture showcase in the Rooney Conference room. Malesky asked senate to show up and vote on furniture for the Rooney apartments. An issue from the floor announced that there is only one set of doors that open in Rooney for handicapped. A light or reflectors would be appreciated at the bottom of lot Q so as to better see the driveway in the dark. The road below Alcuin between the dorms is also really dark at night.
