Book signings planned for Center’s “They Say There Was A War”

The Saint Vincent College Center for Northern Appalachian Studies will conduct public programs and book signings concerning its new publication They Say There Was a War at the Ligonier Valley Public Library Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., and the Barnes and Noble Greensburg Store Saturday, Nov. 12, 1 to 4 p.m. Veterans, who are also regular participants in Dr. Richard Wissolik's course, Faces of Battle, will be in attendance to sign books and speak to the public. Center staff have been collecting and publishing the personal accounts of veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, all theaters of operation, since 1991. David Wilmes, Saint Vincent College alumnus and fellow of the Center, will present a public program on Nov. 11, at the VFW, East Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, honoring Veterans Day.
