Up Close and Personal speaker to talk about career in computing

Students contemplating a career in computing and information science may benefit from talking to Brian LaSitis, senior consultant at Allin Consulting in Pittsburgh, who will be speaking at Saint Vincent College on Monday, Nov. 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room A-32 in Placid Hall. Mr. LaSitis will be the first featured speaker this year in the Up Close and Personal series sponsored by Career Services.

Mr. LaSitis graduated in May of 2003 from Saint Vincent College with a major in Computing and Information Science and a minor in mathematics. He graduated with a 3.9 cumulative average while working concurrently for the Computing and Information Science Department as a Windows administrator.

He will talk to students about his career path from his decision to major in computing and information science to his present position with Allin Consulting. He will discuss his undergraduate school programs, pivotal courses and internships and provide advice and answer questions for students considering a career in computing and information science.

Students with aspirations to enter the computing field are encouraged to attend. Students who are considering changing majors or undecided about their major are also welcome to attend. The Up Close series provides a unique opportunity for students to learn more about a career field in an informal atmosphere. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.

Students must register in Career Services, located on the ground floor of Prep Hall, by Thursday, Nov. 3. Seating is limited.
