Media Relations

The Public Relations Office is anxious to assist the print and electronic news media in covering the multitude of events and activities of our students, faculty, administration and staff. Please call us first when you need to cover Saint Vincent -- we are ready to connect you to the news source you are seeking.

Publicity

The Saint Vincent College Public Relations Office is responsible for the dissemination of information about the College and its activities to the news media and for all official College advertising. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to utilize our services to publicize their activities.

Advertising

The Public Relations Office coordinates the purchase and placement of all classified and display advertising materials for all departments and schools. Please contact our office for assistance with the design, budget, creation and placement of advertisements for events, activities and programs.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING NEWS ITEMS FOR PUBLICATION IN SVC TODAY

 · Saint Vincent College Today is published daily, Monday through Friday, between 11 am and 12 noon and distributed via email to all students, faculty and staff of Saint Vincent College. News items must be submitted to svctoday@stvincent.edu by 10 am to be considered for publication that day.

 · Requests to publish notices about activities and events must be made by a Saint Vincent department, school, employee or officially sanctioned club or organization.

 · In order to conserve readers’ time, the maximum length of any news item will be limited to 100 words and no more than eight stories will be published in any issue.

 · Items with day/date and time will receive first preference for publication and will appear in order chronologically by day, date and time.

 · WELCOME announcements for new faculty or staff will appear weekly on Wednesdays.

 · Departments or Organizations that sponsor many events will be featured as a single mention at the end of the list of headlines. All of an organization’s activities will be listed together with a single headline and will include a URL to their web page if appropriate.

 · REPEATED ITEMS: News items about upcoming events will be published once and will only be repeated if there is a substantive change from the first publication, e.g., change in time or location. Publication of results of previously announced contests or updates to previous postings will be declined.

 · News releases which are distributed to the news media and posted under News and Events on the College’s web site will not be re-published in SVC Today.

 · News about Faculty and Staff professional activities will be posted under News and Events on the College’s web site and will not appear in SVC Today.
