Rob
DePasquale is a professor of Accounting at Saint Vincent College,
where he has served as President of the Faculty Council, chairman of the Rank
and Tenure Committee, member of the Board of Directors Long-Range Planning
Committee, Chairperson of the Middle States Accreditation Self-Study Committee,
and member of various other College committees. He was one of the founders of
the Saint Vincent College Small
Business Development
Center, and served as
Business Administration chair from 1981 to 1996. In 1997, he was the inaugural winner of the
Thoburn Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award at Saint Vincent College,
and in 2000, he was named a Distinguished Alumnus by Alumni Council. He has also taught as an adjunct at several
institutions, including the MBA program of Duquesne University. Rob’s primary teaching areas are financial
and managerial accounting.
Locally,
Rob has served as Chair of the Leadership Program of the Latrobe Area Chamber
of Commerce, Chair of the Eastern Westmoreland Junior Achievement Advisory
Council, vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of Adelphoi Village, Inc., and
as a member of several other local committees. In 2002, he was the inaugural recipient of Greensburg Central
Catholic High
School’s annual Centurion Award
(Distinguished Alum).
Related
to accounting, Rob is the 2009-10 Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Institute
of Certified Public Accountants, and has served as President of its
Southwestern Chapter. . He was
chairperson of the first annual Pennsylvania Accounting Educators Conference in
1986, and most recently served on the Editorial Board of the Pennsylvania CPA
Journal, and on the PICPA Ethics Committee.
He has also served as president of the Westmoreland County Institute of
Management Accountants (1993-94), and as a member of the IMA's national board
(1994-96). In addition to the IMA and
the PICPA, he is a member of the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Internal
Auditors, and the AICPA.
Professionally,
Rob served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Collegiate Business
Schools and Programs (ACBSP) from 2004 to 2008, and has served as President of
its Eastern Region. He has chaired several accreditation visitation teams for
ACBSP. In 2003, he chaired an MBA
assessment exam project committee for Educational Testing Service of Princeton,
NJ, and currently serves as chair of the CLEP accounting exam committee. He has
been a contributor to the CPA, CMA, and CFM examinations. In 1997, he completed
a one-semester teaching exchange at Shandong
University in the Peoples Republic
of China, and in 2002, he
completed a one-semester visiting professorship at Huron
University USA
in London.
During the summer of 2006, he taught in the MBA program at Fu Jen University in
Taiwan.
Rob
received his undergraduate degree in accounting (with highest honors) from Saint Vincent College
and his MBA and Ph.D. from the University
of Pittsburgh. He holds the Certified Public Accountant,
Certified Management Accountant, and Certified Financial Manager designations.
