Public Service and Outreach

Saint Vincent is active in our local community and seeks to provide leadership in a number of important areas. Programs and Centers related to the School of Social Sciences, Communication, and Education also provide internships and special education programs to SVC students.

  • Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children's Media. The Rogers Center is a national program that provides leadership to advance best practices on childhood development and media for children in the tradition of children's television pioneer, Fred Rogers.
  • Saint Vincent College Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program. Prevention works with youth and families in Westmoreland County to encourage healthy lifestyles.
  • Pathways. The Pathways program seeks to encourage college readiness with a selected set of disadvantaged children and their families.
  • Enviromental Education Center. The Enviromental Education Center offers unique opportunities for students in science education to develop and practice informal science instruction.
