The publishing house, “Travelers’ Tales,” has released its latest book, “Stories to Live By,” which includes a chapter entitled, “Forgiveness,” which was written by Fr. Mark Gruber, O.S.B. The chapter is taken from Fr. Mark’s first book, “Wounded By Love.” Travelers’ Tales has through the years published several of the chapter headings from Fr. Mark’s various other books. Throughout the summer Fr. Mark has given a number of presentations of note. He provided a weeklong retreat to the priests of the diocese of St. Catherine, Ontario, and their ordinary, Bishop Wingle; another retreat week to the Benedictine monks of St. Bernard Abbey, Alabama; an educational series to the Brothers of Christian Instruction, Albert, Maine; and a conference series on the Desert Fathers to the Trappists of Genesee Abbey, Genesee, New York. He spent a week at Berkeley writing a draft for a future article on the symbolic archaeology of a coastal Californian Indian people. On Oct. 22, he is invited to speak at the John Paul II Cultural Center, Washington, DC, about the anthropological vision of the ancient Hebrew culture. Along these lines this semester he is teaching a course on Biblical archaeology.
