Dr. Holly Rine, assistant professor in the History Department, recently attended and participated in the fifth annual conference of the British Group in Early American History. The conference, which was held from Sept. 9 to 11, took place at Clare College, University of Cambridge, and explored the theme of “Diasporas, Migration and Identities.” Sponsors of the conference included Tony Badger, the Cambridge University Mellon Professor of American History, the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture, the British Academy and the United States Embassy in London. Dr. Rine’s paper was entitled, “Seventeenth Century migrations and the Rise of Albany as a New Center of Indian-Anglo Diplomacy.”
