iMoviefest, the student movie festival, will take place from Monday, Oct. 3 to Wednesday, Oct. 26. The following are significant dates throughout that period of time.
Monday, Oct. 3
• Initial meeting for students interested will be held at 9 p.m. Forms will be handed out to team members.
Monday, Oct. 3- Thursday, Oct. 6
• The teams for iMoviefest should be formed during this week.
• The teams will have this week to begin planning their video by creating a storyboard.
• To accommodate everyone's schedule, the team should choose between 1 and 3 representatives to participate in team registration, which will begin Friday, Oct. 7.
Friday, Oct. 7 (Team Registration)
• Team representatives should come to Prep Hall Room 220 at 2:30 p.m.
• Students should have a document stating their team's name, members and a brief summary of their video.
• Students will receive their cameras and mini-DV tapes following team registration. Students will sign a contract claiming responsibility for any damage done to equipment.
• There will be a training session on iMovie following equipment distribution.
Saturday, Oct. 8- Thursday, Oct. 20
• Teams should use this time to shoot and edit their videos.
Thursday, Oct. 20
• The videos should be completed on or before this date. They should label their tape, and submit it to David Safin in his office (Prep 218) by 2 p.m. (Videos will be accepted prior to this date, but will not be accepted after the 2 p.m. deadline.)
Monday, Oct. 24
• The judges will begin viewing the final videos.
• The winner(s) will be chosen.
• The iMoviefest 2005 DVD will be created.
Wedmesday, Oct. 26
• iMoviefest 2005 Premiere at 9 p.m. in the Carey Performing Arts Center.
Premiere
The culmination of iMoviefest will be the premiere. The premiere will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Carey Performing Arts Center. All movies will be displayed, the judges will be introduced, and the winners will be announced. The winner(s) will receive their prize(s) at the premiere.
