Shannon returns for her fourth year of softball at Saint Vincent. Last season, she showcased her durability by starting 37 of the team's 38 games, while hitting .337 with two home runs. She finished second on the team with 23 RBI, and she also contributed two stolen bases.

She played three sports at Brandywine Heights HS, playing four years of softball and basketball and one year of tennis. She was named an All-Division third baseman in softball.

A native of Fleetwood, PA, she was born 9-27-86 and is the daughter of Marie and Scott Ballantyne. She is an Accounting and Management major.
