Ashley returns for her fourth year of softball at Saint Vincent. Pitching last season, she posted a 2.53 ERA and a 12-5 record, including four shutouts. At the plate, she hit .295 with two home runs and 15 RBI. A second-year captain for Saint Vincent softball, she was named Spring Female Athlete of the Year at Saint Vincent in 2008.

At Connellsville Area HS, she played four years of softball and volleyball, while adding two years of basketball. For three years, she earned All-Section and All-County honors in softball and was a team captain in 2004 and 2005.

Born 7-20-87, she is the daughter of Betty and Tony Whipkey, and she is an Elementary Education major.
