The Saint Vincent Lady Bearcats split their first two games of the SCAD Tournament in Savannah, Georgia to open the 2006 season. SVC won the opening game 8-3 over Purdue-North Central. Jen Bialobok went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double. Theresa Adams was also 3-4 with three singles. Shannon Ballantyne doubled home a pair of runs, and Lesa Bauer earned the pitching win, tossing 5 innings. Mollie Stock pitched the final two innings. The Lady Bearcats lost the second game of the day, 10-1 to Olivet Nazarene. Ashley Whipkey was the losing pitcher, striking out five in five innings.

The Lady Bearcats fell to 1-3 on the season with a pair of losses in the second day of the Savannah College of Art & Design Tournament. Karissa Fetter's single in the top of the first inning proved to be the Lady Bearcats' only hit in a 17-0 loss to Point Loma Nazarene to start the day. SVC committed 6 errors in a game that was stopped after the top of the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule. In game two, the Lady Bearcats jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first inning over Olivet Nazarene before dropping the contest by a 5-1 score. Ashley Whipkey singled to bring home Theresa Adams to give SVC the lead, but Olivet Nazarene managed five runs (three earned) off Lesa Bauer to secure the victory.

The Lady Bearcats fell to 1-5 after losing a pair of games in the Savannah College of Art & Design tournament. Ashley Whipkey took the loss in a 10-1 game against Roanoke College to start the day. SVC managed only two hits -- singles by Theresa Adams and Shannon Ballantyne. In the second game, SVC recorded 7 hits, but ended up on the short side of a 7-2 game against Swarthmore College. Anna Wasik and Jen Bialobok each had two hits, while Lesa Bauer was the losing pitcher.

The Lady Bearcats defeated Purdue North Central then dropped a game to Park University in the SCAD tournament in Savannah, GA. SVC defeated Purdue-N.C. by a score of 10-3. Ashley Whipkey earned the pitching win and supported her own cause with a double and a single. Jen Bialobok also doubled and singled, while Anna Wasik and Erin Leonard each contributed a pair of singles. The Lady Bearcats and Park University battled to a tie through the regularly scheduled 7 innings, but Park ended up winning the game 5-4 in 9 innings. Whipkey had three hits and Theresa Adams had a pair of singles to lead the offense. Mollie Stock took the loss in relief.

The Lady Bearcats finished the SCAD Tournament with a record of 2-8 after a pair of losses on the final day of competition. SVC lost to Reinhardt College (GA) by a score of 11-3, then dropped the day's second game to another Georgia school, Brewton-Parker, 7-3. SVC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Reinhardt thanks to RBIs from Karissa Fetter and Rachel Komarinski. Lady Bearcat pitcher Lesa Bauer kept RC off the board until the sixth inning, when the SVC defense faltered, committing 7 errors and allowing the opponents to score 11 runs. In game two, Mollie Stock took the loss as the Lady Bearcats fell to BP. Jen Bialobok had the big hit for Saint Vincent, a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

The Lady Bearcats split a doubleheader with Malone, dropping the opener 7-3 while winning the night cap 6-4.
In game one, Lesa Bauer was saddled with the loss, going five innings and striking out seven batters. Mollie Stock came in from the bullpen in the top of the sixth and threw two scoreless innings.
Shannon Ballantyne led the offense, going 2-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Anna Wasik also had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in one.
In game two, Ashley Whipkey went the distance on the mound, scattering seven hits while striking out two to earn the win. Tiffany Milan went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Wasik, Karissa Fetter, Erin Leonard, and Jen Bialobok all added RBIs in the victory.

The Saint Vincent Lady Bearcats played well, but lost a pair of one-run games to Walsh University at home. The final scores were 5-4 and 1-0. SVC scored four times in the fourth inning of game one, thanks to a two-run single by Erin Leonard and a two-run home run by Shannon Ballantyne. Lesa Bauer struck out five in the game, but was tagged with the loss. In game two, the Saint Vincent bats were silent, as a great pitching performance by Ashley Whipkey resulted in the loss.

The Lady Bearcats split a doubleheader in dramatic fashion against Bethany College. Bethany captured game one by a score of 4-3, while SVC won an exciting second game by a score of 2-1 in extra innings. Theresa Adams doubled, singled and drove in a run in the day's first game. Shannon Ballantyne added a double and an RBI, while Lesa Bauer suffered the loss. In game two, Ashley Whipkey went the distance, holding Bethany scoreless through the regularly scheduled first 7 innings. In the top of the seventh, however, it took a pair of great plays by SVC freshman Anna Wasik to preserve a scoreless tie. Wasik, playing center field, fielded a single up the middle and gunned down a runner at the plate. She later made a diving catch to end the inning. In the top of the 8th, Bethany managed to score a run, but additional tallies were kept off the scoreboard thanks to a diving catch by SVC left fielder Erin Leonard. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 8th, Karissa Fetter and Leonard both reached on walks, followed by a Jen Bialobok single that loaded the bases. Whipkey then won the game for herself by singling home two runs to end the game.

Saint Vincent and Seton Hill split a doubleheader to open the Lady Bearcats' American Mideast Conference slate. SVC won the first game by a score of 7-3, but the Griffins responded with a 7-5 victory in game two. The Lady Bearcats scored five times in the fifth inning to break open a 2-1 game, thanks to singles by Shannon Ballantyne and Ashley Whipkey along with doubles by TIffany Milan, Rachel Komarinski and Mollie Stock. Lesa Bauer earned the pitching victory. In game two, Jen Bialobok hit a 2-run home run in the fourth inning, but it wasn't enough as Ashley Whipkey took the loss.

Lesa Bauer tossed a four-hitter in the second game, but the Lady Bearcat bats were silent, as Tiffin won 1-0.

Despite two great pitching performances, the Lady Bearcats only earned a split in a home doubleheader against Juniata College. Lesa Bauer pitched in game one for SVC, striking out 12 and giving up just two hits. Unfortunately, one of those hits was a 2-run home run, which gave Juniata a 2-0 victory. In game two, Ashley Whipkey shut down Juniata's offense, as SVC went on to win by a 2-0 score. Erin Leonard drove in both runs to give the Lady Bearcats a non-conference win.

The Lady Bearcats were swept in a conference road doubleheader against Notre Dame College in Ohio. The scores were 8-2 and 1-0. Mollie Stock was 2-for-3 in the opening game, while Tiffany Milan (1-2) and Jill Kopinski (1-1) each drove in runs. Ashley Whipkey pitched the first five innings, giving up 5 earned runs and taking the loss. Stock pitched the final inning, giving up one earned run. In game two, the game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh and final inning, when Notre Dame scored on a one-out single to win. Lesa Bauer went the distance and took the loss for the Lady Bearcats, giving up just five hits while striking out seven. The SVC bats only produced four hits in the game.

The Lady Bearcats lost a pair of games on the road against future PAC foe Westminster College. The final scores were 1-0 and 6-1. Ashley Whipkey was the hard-luck loser in game one, tossing a two-hitter. The SVC defense also played well, turning a triple play in the fourth inning, but the bats were silenced by Westminster. In game two, back-to-back doubles early in the game by Jen Bialobok and Mollie Stock gave SVC a 1-0 lead, which they held until the sixth inning. However, Westminster scored five times in the bottom of the sixth, resulting in a 6-1 loss for the Lady Bearcats.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University defeated the Saint Vincent Lady Bearcats twice by the score of 4-3. Mollie Stock took the loss in game one, giving up three late runs in relief of Ashley Whipkey, who pitched six strong innings. Whipkey yielded just four hits and one run, and helped her own cause with an RBI double. In game two, Jen Bialobok homered, while Whipkey and Rachel Komarinski both singled and doubled, but it was not enough as MVNU again won by a 4-3 tally. Lesa Bauer went the distance, suffering the loss.

The Lady Bearcats swept Point Park University by identical scores of 4-1 in American Mideast Conference play. SVC got off to a fast start in game one, scoring a pair of runs in the first thanks to singles by Erin Leonard, Shannon Ballantyne and Jen Bialobok, and a double by Tiffany Milan. That proved to be all that starter Lesa Bauer would need, as she went the distance for the victory. In game two, SVC took advantage of multiple errors by Point Park to build an early lead, and pitcher Ashley Whipkey held PPU to just one run to complete the doubleheader sweep.

The Lady Bearcats were held scoreless over two games, falling to American Mideast Conference North rival Ursuline College by scores of 6-0 and 1-0. Saint Vincent had a three-hit second inning, but failed to push a run across the plate in game one. Lesa Bauer yielded 10 hits and suffered the loss. In game two, Ashley Whipkey lost yet another hard-luck game, giving up just three hits. However, Ursuline held the Lady Bearcats to just two, a single by Shannon Ballantyne and a double by Tiffany Milan.

Lady Bearcat hurler Lesa Bauer entered the SVC record books, as throwing a complete game no-hitter in the Bearcats 5-0 victory over Carlow University. SVC completed the sweep, defeating the Celtics 5-2 in the day's second game.
Bauer threw a perfect 6 1/3 innings before allowing a Carlow base runner, but closed out the game strong for the record breaking performance.
Offensively, Rachel Komarinski and Anna Wasik were both 2-3, with Komarinski adding a double. Mollie Stock finished the day 2-4.
In game two, Ashley Whipkey earned the win on the hill with Stock throwing the final two innings to earn the save.
Erin Leonard, Komarinski, and Shannon Ballantyne all went 2-4 at the plate, and Stock went deep for the Lady Bearcats (5-7 AMC North, 10-24 overall).

Ohio Dominican University held the SVC Lady Bearcats to just five hits in two games, winning by scores of 7-0 and 8-0. Mollie Stock was the bright spot for SVC in game one, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. SVC's only other hit was a single by Shannon Ballantyne. In game two, the host Lady Bearcats only managed two hits, one each by Theresa Adams and Jen Bialobok.

The Lady Bearcats closed the 2006 season by splitting a doubleheader with Geneva College. After winning game one by a 5-4 score, SVC dropped game two, 1-0. Rachel Komarinski provided the winning hit in the opener, a two-run home run in the top of the fourth that broke a 1-1 tie. Lesa Bauer picked up the winning, going the distance. Geneva shut down the SVC bats in game two, as pitcher Ashley Whipkey lost yet another close contest.
