The Lady Bearcats won their 20th game of the season, splitting a doubleheader with Penn State-Beaver at home. The Lions won the first game 1-0, but SVC came back to win game two by a score of 6-1. Mollie Stock pitched well but took the loss in the opener, striking out nine, but the Lady Bearcats managed only five hits. Jostalyn Klosky had a double, while April Hawkey, Leanna Seminsky, Shannon Ballantyne and Courtney Buhl all had singles. In game two, Klosky went 3-for-4 as SVC picked up the win. Ashley Whipkey was the winning pitcher, and doubled at the plate. Stock, Rachel Komarinski, Hawkey and Seminsky all had singles.
SVC is now 20-12 on the year and will be on the road at Point Park University on Sunday. The team has also announced the make-up of the Franciscan doubleheader. It will take place at home on Friday, May 2. The time will be announced in a few days.
