Behind a pair of offensive explosions and dominating pitching performances, including a no-hitter by Mollie Stock, the Lady Bearcats swept Penn State-Fayette in a big way at home. SVC won the opener by a score of 11-0. Winning pitcher Mollie Stock struck out 13 of the 15 batters she faced en-route to the no-hitter. It was the first no-hitter for the Lady Bearcats since Lesa Bauer blanked Carlow University on April 27, 2006. Stock had plenty of offensive support. SVC scored a run in the first thanks to a pair of walks, a hit by pitch, and two passed balls. Three more passed balls, along with four walks and a single by Stock made the score 6-0 after two innings. In all, SVC drew 13 walks in the game. Jostalyn Klosky tripled for SVC. In game two, SVC scored 8 runs in the first, including a grand slam by Courtney Buhl, en route to a 19-1 victory. Jenna Bealko was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, April Hawkey was 1-for-1 with a double and three walks, and Rachel Komarinski homered. The 19 runs were the most scored in a game for the Lady Bearcats since they defeated Point Park 19-0 on April 18, 2002. Ashley Whipkey earned the win on the mound, allowing one hit and one unearned run while striking out nine. SVC is now 5-3 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday at Pitt-Greensburg.
