The Lady Bearcats split with Westminster in New Wilmington, PA, losing game one by a 12-7 count before rebounding to take a dramatic nightcap 3-2.

In the opener, Shannon Ballantyne tripled, while Mollie Stock, Ashley Whipkey, and Jostalyn Klosky all doubled.  Stock, Leanna Seminsky, and Jenna Bealko all had two hits for SVC in the losing effort.  Stock was saddled with the pitching loss.

In the nightcap, a two-run single by SVC's Rachel Komarinski in the sixth inning proved to be the game winner, as the Titans loaded the bases in the seventh, but Klosky ended the game with a diving catch to preserve the win.

Whipkey was the winning pitcher for SVC, going all seven innings while allowing just four hits.  Ballantyne went 2-3, with another triple, as did Brittany Carraci.  Seminsky added a double for the Lady Bearcats.

After the split, SVC's record stands at 16-10, as the Lady Bearcats have set a team record for wins in the season, eclipsing the 1986 squad that finished 15-10.

The Lady Bearcats return to action Saturday, traveling to Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Grove City College for a 1pm doubleheader.
