The Lady Bearcats split a doubleheader on the road at Grove City College. SVC won game one by a score of 4-2, then dropped game two by a 4-3 tally. In the opener, Grove City scored twice in the first inning, but SVC fought back in the fourth. April Hawkey led off with a walk, then Rachel Komarinski singled up the middle. Mollie Stock then cleared the bases with a triple, and came in to score on a throwing error, making it 3-2 Saint Vincent. The Lady Bearcats added another run in the sixth, as Komarinski singled and later scored on a fielder's choice. Mollie Stock was the winning pitcher, giving up just two hits and striking out four. She is now 8-4 on the year. In game two, Saint Vincent scored twice in the third inning. Leanna Seminsky led off with a single, then moved to second when Kerstin Makowski reached on sacrifice bunt attempt that resulted in a Grove City error. Rachel Komarinski then reached on a failed fielder's choice, loading the bases. A wild pitch scored Seminsky, then Ashley Whipkey doubled home Makowski. Grove City scored three runs to take the lead, but Whipkey tied the game in the 5th inning with a home run to right field. However, she then took the pitching loss, as the hosts scored in their half of the fifth to seal the win. SVC is now 17-11 on the season, and will host Franciscan University on Sunday.
