Thanks to late game heroics by senior Jostalyn Klosky, Saint Vincent split a doubleheader against W&J on the road. SVC dropped game one by a score of 3-0. Mollie Stock took the loss, as the Lady Bearcats were held to just one hit, a single by Ashley Whipkey in the 4th inning. In game two, SVC was down 2-1 going to the seventh and final inning. Klosky evened the game on the first pitch of the inning with a home run that ultimately sent the game to extra innings. In the 8th, winning pitcher Ashley Whipkey singled with one out, then Angela Doyle followed with a single that moved Whipkey to third. A wild pitch then allowed the game winning run to score for a 3-2 SVC victory. Doyle and Maura Wahl each went 2-for-4, while Klosky had 2 RBI. Whipkey went the distance to improve to 5-1 on the year, striking out five. SVC will be on the road Sunday at Mount Aloysius, making up a doubleheader postponed earlier in the week.
