The Saint Vincent Environmental Education Center was recently presented with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania Trustee Award. This award recognizes an organization for outstanding efforts to further the cause of conservation in Pennsylvania. In presenting the award, a representative of the Audubon Society praised the efforts of Angela Belli, environmental education coordinator, and Beth Langham, assistant coordinator, for their efforts to educate the public about the history of mining, the science of abandoned mine drainage clean-up and the world of wetland ecosystems with training programs that are both instructional and fun. The center was credited with reaching more than 5,000 school children, 300 teachers and countless members of the public.
