SVC-TV
Sports covered by the campus station include basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, and baseball. Students serve in all capacities – producing, directing, camera operation, graphics and announcing. Facilities are among the finest in small college sports. The Carey Center gymnasium is fully wired for television, allowing four cameras, including an overhead “backboard” cam. Bearcat Park, home of the baseball team, underwent a permanent television wiring project during the summer of 2005 featuring a press box broadcasting location behind home plate. Telecasts can be seen not only on campus, but also in the community of Latrobe, thanks to Citizens Cable and a joint venture with Greater Latrobe High School. Audio from many broadcasts is available live on the internet. See our webcast page for additional information. Video highlights of many sporting events can be seen as well on our Sports Videos page. Many alumni of the SVC-TV group have gone on to continue their careers in sports media. Currently, former SVC-TV workers are employed as either interns or full-time employees with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Mercyhurst College, Penn State-Altoona and more. Any student that would like to become part of the SVC-TV production team should contact the Sports Information Office at 724-805-2476. |

SVC-TV features three on-campus channels, one of which, Channel 22, is devoted to sports broadcasting.
