Academic Orientation
Academic Orientation will take place Monday, June 8, 2009 through Thursday, June 11, 2009. Students are asked to come on the day on their chosen major.
- Monday, June 8, 2009 - School of Humanities and Fine Arts
(English, Fine Arts, History, Liberal Arts, Modern & Classical Language, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Undeclared)
- Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - School of Social Sciences, Communication and Education
(Anthropology, Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Elementary Instruction)
- Wednesday, June 10, 2009 - Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government
(Business, Business Undeclared, Economics, Political Science, and Public Policy)
- Thursday, June 11, 2009 - Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing
(Bioinformatics, Biology, Chemistry, Computing & Information Science, Pre-Health Professional, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Mathematics/Engineering, Natural Science Undeclared, and Physics)
Each day will begin with registration from 8:30 - 8:55 am. Lunch will be provided for the student and their parents. The day will conclude with a tour of Saint Benedict Hall at 3:00 pm. Due to construction, you will have to enter the campus from Route 30. When you arrive on campus, please park in the Fred M. Rogers Center parking lot. Registration and Opening activities will take place in the Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center, located at the top of the hill, right beyond the stop sign. There will be shuttles available in the parking lot.
Make-up orientation sessions will be scheduled shortly and students will be notified that will not participate in the assigned Orientation day. Also, videos of Academic Orientation will be available for viewing after that week.
