Message to All New Students
Dear Future Bearcat,Congratulations on your recent acceptance to Saint Vincent College! I know you will be extremely satisfied with the decision you have made. Believe it or not, the Orientation Team is already planning for your August arrival.
Saint Vincent College's Orientation Program is known throughout the region as an extensive, informative, fun-filled experience. Orientation at Saint Vincent includes a team of faculty, administrators, and over 100 student volunteers who work to make your transition to SVC a smooth one. We know you have numerous questions and concerns about college life and it is our primary goal to address these in a personal, constructive way.
What should I bring to college? What are the expectations of me from my professors? What is the "social scene" like on campus? Should I buy my books before arriving on campus? How much money does the average person spend in a week? When will I get to meet the upperclassmen? This is a sampling of literally hundreds of questions our committee receives each year as students prepare for their transition to Saint Vincent. Our goal is to answer all of them while developing lifelong friendships in the process.
This website offers you information that will answer many of your questions and "wet your appetite" for exciting days ahead. While the web serves as a resource, know that you are always welcome to contact us directly.
The entire Saint Vincent College Orientation Committee is "pumped-up" and anxiously awaiting your arrival in August! You won't believe all the great things we have planned for the six-week Orientation Program! Surely, there will be something for everyone! In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding Orientation, please call me at 724-805-2564, visit our webpage at www.stvincent.edu or email me at alice.kaylor@email.stvincent.edu.
Sincerely,
Dean Alice Kaylor
