RESIDENCE HALL DIRECTORS

Each residence hall is managed by a Residence Hall Director (RHD). The RHD is charged with setting a tone in each residence hall consistent with the goals and policies of the College. Specific responsibilities include supervising the Assistant Residence Hall Director(s) and Prefects, serving as a resource for students, advising Residence Hall Council, conducting judicial hearings, and providing evening and weekend coverage for emergencies.

ASSISTANT RESIDENCE HALL DIRECTORS

Assistant Residence Hall Directors (ARHD) serve as the secondary manager for each residence hall. The ARHD’s duties include serving as a resource for students, working on special projects with staff and residents, and assisting the RHD as needed.

PREFECTS

All residence halls are staffed with 3 to 21 upperclass student Prefects (Resident Assistants). Each Prefect is responsible for the specific floor, neighborhood, or area in which he or she lives. Specific duties include serving as a resource for students, confronting inappropriate behavior, planning programs and activities for residents, reporting maintenance problems, and being on duty in the residence hall during nights and weekends.
