About Dr. Cline:
Dr. Thomas W. Cline is an adjunct professor at University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business. He also serves as St. Vincent's Head Coach for Men's and Women's Golf and Assistant to the President for Marketing.
In addition to teaching and coaching, Dr. Cline is a marketing research consultant, specializing in experimental designs, focus groups, and survey research. Dr. Cline is also a freelance architect.
Dr. Cline won the PIAA State Golf Championship in 1979 and earned a four-year golf scholarship to UVA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture in 1984 at the University of Virginia and earned his MBA at UVA's Darden School in 1987. Dr. Cline was awarded a Ph.D. in marketing with doctoral minors in social psychology and statistical methods at the University of Cincinnati in 1997.
In 2004, Dr. Cline was awarded the International Teaching Award from the Association of College Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). In Addition, he was nominated for the 2004 Marketing Management Association Master Teacher Award. Prior to this, Dr. Cline and his colleagues won the 2003 Young Contributors Award for best paper in the Journal of Consumer Psychology.
Previously, Dr. Cline was the Executive Director of the MBA Program and Associate Professor of Business and Economics at West Virginia Wesleyan College where he had served on the faculty for ten years. The recipient of several honors, Dr. Cline was presented with the Exemplary Teaching and Leadership Award by the Wesleyan MBA class of 2002. The previous year he had received Recognition from the Office of Intercultrual Relations of West Virginia Wesleyan College, and in 1999 he was presented with a Distinguished Faculty Award by the Wesleyan College graduating class of that year.
Dr. Cline has numerous publications, including empirical studies in the Journal of Advertising, Psychology & Marketing, and the Journal of Consumer Psychology. He is a frequent contributor to the American Psychological Association, the American Marketing Association, and the Society for Consumer Psychology. Dr. Cline has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Advertising, the American Academy of Advertising, and the Society for Consumer Psychology. Dr. Cline's work has been cited in USA Today, Psychology Today, New Woman Magazine, CBS News, The LA Times, MSNBC, and The Washington Times.
A native of Grove City, Dr. Cline and his wife, Sally, now reside in Latrobe with their four children. He and his family are members of the Saint Vincent Parish.
