General
Physics Building

The Saint Vincent College Department of Physics prepares students to continue on to graduate work as well as for the teaching profession or research laboratories. In addition to well-equipped general physics labs, specialized laboratories are also provided for astronomy, physical geology, optics, acoustics, atomic and nuclear physics. The Physics Building also houses the Computing and Information Science Department along with its specialized computer lab and servers. The Computing major offers concentrations in both Information Technology and Computer Science. Students can choose from up-to-date courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, computer security, networking, software engineering, and web software development.

The semicircular building in the center of the Science Center is the Commons Building which connects all of the other buildings and provides space for a 300 seat amphitheatre, a planetarium, classrooms and lounge. The amphitheatre provides an intimate theatre in the half-round for many public presentations including theatre, lectures, recitals and other special events.

The outdoor tennis and basketball courts are used for recreation by students and faculty. The men's and women's tennis teams practice and play their matches indoors at the Racquet Club.
