Ashley was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing in volleyball, basketball and softball.
She was named to the First Team All-WPIAL her senior year, 2nd Team during her junior year, and was a four-year scholar-athlete award winner. At Saint Vincent, she has focused on volleyball, and has become one of the top setters in the nation. After earning Honorable Mention honors from the American Mideast Conference in 2002 as a freshman, Ashley jumped to the First Team in 2003 and was named the Conference Setter of the Year. In 2004, she once again earned those honors. Ashley, the daughter of Jay Ripple and Elizabeth Sutter, is a chemistry major with a minor in education.
