The Presidents' Athletic Conference has awarded three Lady Bearcats with PAC Coaches Honors for the 2008-09 season. Seniors Ashley Campbell and Janelle Reed, along with freshman Emily Fenton, received PAC Coaches Awards, the equivalent of all-PAC recognition for student-athletes from schools, like Saint Vincent, that are provisional members of NCAA Division III. Campbell, a senior from Monessen, PA, was argubaly the top point guard in the conference during the '08-09 season. She started all 24 games and averaged 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds, while she led the PAC in assists per game (5.1) and steals (97). She recorded three games with 10 or more assists, and twice grabbed nine steals in a game, the second most in team history. Reed, a senior from Saltsburg, PA, was off to a strong start to the season before suffering a serious knee injury in early January. Leading the conference with 18.1 points per game prior to the injury, Reed battled back after missing six games, and finished the year averaging a team-high 11.8 points per game to go with 34 steals and an average of 1.9 rebounds. Fenton, a native of Latrobe, burst onto the scene with a very strong freshman campaign. She appeared in all 24 games, starting six, and finished with averages of 11.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. She was also SVC's top shooter from long range, connecting on 40 of 116 attempts, good for a mark of 34.5 percent. The Lady Bearcats finished the 2008-09 regular season with an overall record of 16-8, an eight-game turnaround from the previous season. The squad is currently awaiting word on receiving a post-season bid to the ECAC tournament.
