Lady Bearcat head coach Kristen Zawacki has announced that Savannah Hardy and Ashley Bellovich will each attend Saint Vincent beginning this fall, and will play basketball for the Lady Bearcats. Hardy, a 6-0 forward, is a native of Huntingtown, MD and graduate of Huntingtown High School, where she played four years of basketball. A two-year captain, she was voted her team's most valuable player following the 2008-09 campaign, in addition to being named the Senior South Outstanding Player of the Year. She received her team's Coaches Award in each of the past two seasons, and was named Huntingtown's 2007-08 Defensive Player of the Year. Also an excellent student, she received the Minds in Motion Award in all four of her years at Huntingtown. Bellovich, a 5-9 guard, is a Pittsburgh native and graduate of North Catholic High School, where she earned four letters on the hardwood. She led North Catholic to three section championships, a pair of WPIAL titles (2007, 2009), and a runner-up finish at the 2007 PIAA basketball championship. She was a two-time first team All-Section selection, as well as an All-WPIAL pick for the 2008-09 season. She was a four-year honor student at North Catholic, and a member of the National Honor Society, while also participating in the Executive Board Leadership Program.
