The Lady Bearcats nearly overcame a 14-point second half deficit, but lost to Grove City on the road, 65-54.

After a see-saw battle in the first half, SVC trailed by just one at the break, 29-28.  Grove City then hit clutch shots in the first part of the second frame, opening the lead to 48-34 with 10:23 left in the game.

Trailing 50-37 with 9:15 remaining, SVC embarked on a 15-4 run, with Laura Klimchock scoring nine points in the six-minute span.  Her jumper with 3:09 left made it 54-52 in favor of Grove City.  After the Wolverines increased the lead to four, Klimchock again scored to cut it back to two with just 2:07 left.

However, Grove City once again found the shooting touch, scoring the game's final nine points.

Klimchock and Janelle Reed each scored 16 for Saint Vincent (4-11).  Caryn Glassbrenner grabbed 9 rebounds, while Ashley Campbell recorded 4 steals.

For Grove City (5-10), Krisa Beechy had a game-high 17 points, followed by Christine Slater's 16 off the bench.  Brittany Anderson dominated the boards, with 15 rebounds.

SVC will be back in action on Wednesday night, hosting Thomas More College in the Carey Center at 6PM.
