The Lady Bearcats defeating Waynesburg University by a score of 60-43.

Janelle Reed led SVC with 22 points, while adding five steals, and teammate Ashley Campbell scored 14 points with five assists and seven rebounds.  Caryn Glassbrenner topped the Lady Bearcats with 11 rebounds.

Saint Vincent took an 8-0 lead just 1:10 into play, with threes from Reed and Maria Baroffio and a lay up by Ashley Campbell.  The Lady Bearcat lead stretched to 10, at 13-3, just two minutes later, on Reed's second three of the night.

Waynesburg chipped away at its deficit, and eventually brought the game to within one, at 17-16.  SVC's lead again grew to seven points, at 26-19, on a Maura Wahl three-pointer with just under a minute left before halftime. Waynesburg scored the next three points to make the halftime score 26-22 in favor of the Lady Bearcats.

The second half started off as a back-and-forth affair, until the Lady Bearcats used stifling defensive pressure to go on a 17-5 run in a six-minute span midway through the final frame, opening up a 47-33 lead on a Gabbie Kassis lay in at the 10-minute mark.  Over those six minutes, six different Lady Bearcats scored at least two points.

SVC continued to build onto the lead, and, after two more threes from Reed, the Lady Bearcats enjoyed their largest advantage of the night, 60-41, with three minutes left to play.

Over the second half, Saint Vincent forced 15 Waynesburg turnovers, and the Yellow Jackets made just 10 field goals on 28 attempts, and just one three pointer in seven tries.

Michaelene Jones recorded a double-double for the Yellow Jackets with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Jeanette Wonsettler added 14 boards.

With the win, Saint Vincent improves to 3-5 on the season, while Waynesburg falls to 1-6.  The Lady Bearcats will now enjoy a six-day layoff before traveling to Florida to participate in the two-day Warner Southern College tournament next Friday and Saturday.
