2006 Game Recaps

9/1 - Wells College

The Saint Vincent Lady Bearcats won their season opener for 2006...and it marked the first win the history of the second-year program.  SVC defeated Wells College by a score of 6-0.

Freshmen Ginger Paddock and Rachel Hill each scored two goals, while classmate Lauren Scheloske and sophomore Lindsay Bisking scored one apiece.

9/2 - Slippery Rock

Former coach Stacey Hart returned to SVC with Slippery Rock University, and the visiting Rock defeated the Lady Bearcats by a score of 3-0.

Saint Vincent goalie Jaqueline Novak performed well, making 12 saves, but the Lady Bearcat offense could never get going.

9/6 - Wilson College

The Lady Bearcats picked up their second win of the season, defeating visiting Wilson College 1-0.

Katie Tamagno scored the lone goal of the contest for SVC, while Jaqueline Novak spent the duration of the game in the net, picking up the shutout.

9/10 - Stevens

Stevens Institute of Technology shut down the Lady Bearcats by a score of 7-0.

SVC was completely overmatched on the day, as Stevens tallied 41 shots compared to zero for the Lady Bearcats.  Barbara Brunetta posted 13 saves in the first half in goal for Saint Vincent, while Jaqueline Novak saved five second-half shots.

9/19 - Frostburg State

The Lady Bearcats lost to Frostburg State University on the road in Maryland by a score of 2-0.

FSU outshot Saint Vincent 18-2, but goalkeeper Jaqueline Novak kept SVC in the game with 9 saves.  The offense, however, could not score on the tough FSU defense.

10/8 - Wells

The Lady Bearcats snapped their eight game winless streak in a big way, shutting out Wells College 3-0.

Katie Tamagno put SVC on the board with 19:12 remaining in the first half, knocking a long rebound into the back of the net.

The sophomore forward scored her second goal of the afternoon with only 17 seconds remaining in the half, off an assist from Ginger Paddock, and the Lady Bearcats took a 2-0 lead into the intermission.

Saint Vincent owned play throughout the majority of the second half, with the ball seldomly finding its way into the Wells end thanks to solid play by the Lady Bearcat defendse and midfield.

Saint Vincent picked up an insurance goal with 14:40 left in regulation, as Paddock rushed in on a breakaway and found the net to close out the scoring for the afternoon.

Kaitlyn Rauchat earned the shutout in goal, playing in place of starting goalie Jaqueline Novak, who was out with an injury.

10/13 - Washington & Jefferson

After playing to a scoreless tie through the first half, Washington & Jefferson tallied three second-half goals against the Lady Bearcats to post a 3-0 victory.

Jaqueline Novak took the loss in goal for SVC, recording 11 saves.

10/15 - SUNY-Morrisville

Despite outshooting SUNY-Morrisville by a 22-8 margin, the Lady Bearcats were unable to put one in the net, losing at home by a score of 2-0.

The teams battled to a scoreless first half, but SVC yielded a pair of second half goals.  Jaqueline Novak recorded six saves in the net for Saint Vincent (3-11).

10/19 - Houghton

10/21 - Depauw
