Visiting Earlham College handed the Lady Bearcats a rainy 1-0 defeat in Saint Vincent's final home game of the year. In a defensive struggle played mostly around the midfield area, the teams combined for only seven shots on goal, with the only one that found the net being off the stick of Earlham's Liz Beuhler in the game's 20th minute following a Quaker penalty corner. SVC had trouble getting much offense going, managing just three shots on goal and one lone penalty corner.
Earlham had 14 penalty corners, but managed only five shots on goal, with Lady Bearcat goalie Jackie Novak making four saves. Prior to the game, SVC senior Lauren Jones was honored for playing in her final contest on the home turf. The Lady Bearcats will now have a week off before taking the field again, as they travel to Frostburg State for a 7pm game next Thursday.
