The Lady Bearcats ended their five game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Wells College in the consolation game of the Independent Field Hockey Championship in Chambersburg, PA.

Senior Rachel Hill broke a scoreless tie in dramatic fashion, scoring the game-winner with just 1:54 left in the second half, blasting home a shot from a Lady Bearcat penalty corner.

Wells held a slim 6-5 advantage in shots for the game, as SVC goalie Jacqueline Novak played all 70 minutes in net, making six saves to earn the shutout victory.

Following the game, it was announced that Lady Bearcat forwards Sam Larkin and Maryellen Baverso were named to the all-tournament team. 

The victory improves SVC's record to 6-11 on the year, and the team will now have a six-day layoff before wrapping up the regular season on Saturday, November 7th, hosting Houghton College at 1pm on the Saint Vincent Turf.
