The Lady Bearcats lost a 2-1 decision on the Saint Vincent turf to visiting Wilson College.

The visiting Phoenix of Wilson got on the board early, taking a 1-0 lead just nine minutes into play when Tara Fields received a pass midstrike from Jess Menard, and buried it in the net.

Saint Vincent countered shortly after, with Sam Larkin banging home a loose ball from in front in the game's 17th minute.

The game remained tied at one throughout the duration of the first half, despite constant offensive pressure from the Lady Bearcats, who were unable to score despite taking five shots and five penalty corners over the final 11 minutes of the opening stanza.

Wilson seized control early on in the second half, taking three penalty corners in a two-minute span, eventually gaining the 2-1 lead 3:30 into the half when Leisel Troshak put back her own rebound.

The remainder of the game was a defensive battle, as the Wilson defense surrendered just two shots over the final 25 minutes, both stopped by goalie Nikola Grafnetterova to preserve the 2-1 Phoenix win.

Wilson owned a slim 11-10 advantage in shots for the game, while each team took nine penalty corners apiece.  SVC goalie Jacqueline Novak finished with four saves.

The loss drops the Lady Bearcats' record to 5-9 on the season.  They return to action next Wednesday, October 28th, hosting crosstown rival Seton Hill University on the SVC turf beginning at 4pm.
