The Lady Bearcat offense struggled in the team's 2-0 defeat at Wilson College. Neither team was able to find the scoreboard over the first 35 minutes, thanks to a strong showing by the Lady Bearcat defense and goalie Jackie Novak, as Wilson outshot SVC 6-0 in the first half, with Novak making three close-range saves. The defensive theme continued throughout the second half, until Wilson's Whitney Hawkins was able to score the game's first goal, with just over 15 minutes left, assisted by Liesel Troschack. Wilson kept up the offensive pressure, and 10 minutes later, they were able to score an insurance marker, on an unassisted tally by Lisa Christiansen with six minutes remaining in regulation. Novak finished the day with six saves in the losing effort, while Maryellen Baverso was credited with SVC's only shot on goal of the day. The loss drops SVC's record to 4-5 on the season. The Lady Bearcats will return to action on Friday, traveling to crosstown rival Seton Hill for a 4pm game.
