SVC Lacrosse
3/11 - Wooster

The College of Wooster used a late scoring barrage to defeat Saint Vincent 11-7 in the Lady Bearcats' season opener at Chuck Noll Field.

Saint Vincent sophomore Liz Louison finished with a game high six points, coming on four goals and two assists, but SVC saw the Scots break open a tie game with four unanswered goals over the final 18 minutes to earn the win.

Wooster jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead just three minutes into play, but the Lady Bearcats quickly regrouped.  Louison scored the team's first game of the season, an unassisted tally, eight minutes into play, and then teammate Sarah Peranteau followed with her first goal of the year 90 seconds later to tie the game at 2-2.  SVC was able to gain the lead with 15:28 left in the half, on Louison's second goal of the contest.

The visiting Scots then gained the momentum, scoring three goals over a three-minute span to go ahead 5-3 with 13 minutes left in the opening stanza.  SVC again answered back, with Louison and Lauren Martino scoring just 20 seconds apart to send the game into halftime tied at five.

SVC freshman Anne Roslonski scored the first goal of her career just 40 seconds into the second half, giving the Lady Bearcats the lead once again at 6-5, but the Scots quickly answered with two goals over a 50-second span to go up 7-6 with 26:47 left to play.

Six minutes later, Louison picked up a ground ball in SVC's defensive zone and streaked up the middle of the field through a sea of defenders.  She was fouled in front of the net and was granted a free position shot, which she promptly buried to bring the Lady Bearcats to within one with 20:32 left in regulation.

Wooster went ahead 8-7 with a goal at the 18:50 mark, and the game then turned into a defensive struggle, with neither team able to gain any legitimate scoring opportunities.

The Scots, however, eventually wore down the Lady Bearcat defense, maintaining possession for much of the final 10 minutes of the game, and scoring three goals in the process to hold off the Lady Bearcats and earn the season-opening win.

3/21 - Ohio Wesleyan

In the first game ever played at Saint Vincent's new artificial turf field, the Lady Bearcats were defeated 13-8 by visiting Ohio Wesleyan University.

Liz Louison, Sarah Peranteau, and Anne Roslonski each scored two goals apiece, while Erica Lisi turned in a strong performance in goal, making 21 saves.

After spotting the Bishops a pair of goals in the first four minutes of play, the Lady Bearcats stormed back.  Louison ignited the squad with her first goal at the 24:30 mark, and SVC then surged ahead, with Peranteau, Roslonski, Emily Fedor, and Louison all scoring within a five minute span to push the Lady Bearcats in front 5-2 with 16 minutes left in the half.

Ohio Wesleyan then seized the momentum after a time out, countering the Lady Bearcat surge with six unanswered goals over the final 14 minutes of the first half to enter the intermission ahead 7-5.

The Bishops scored the first goal of the second half at the 22:51 mark, but Peranteau's second tally of the day, off of a give-and-go feed from Ashton Mancuso, cut the OWU lead to 8-6 with 20 minutes left.

Four minutes later, Roslonski scored her second goal, assisted by Danielle Yoncha, and Kelly Naugle then answered an OWU goal with her first of the season on a wraparound with 12:45 left to pull SVC to within one, 9-8.

It was as close as the Lady Bearcats could come, however, as the Bishops put the game away with four goals over the final 11 minutes to earn the 13-8 win.

Ohio Wesleyan (2-2) was led on the scoresheet by the duo of Hannah Mudge and Haleigh Rohr, who each finished with three goals and one assist.  Liz Searfos earned the win in goal for the Bishops, making 11 saves, as OWU finished with a 34-26 advantage in shots.

3/22 - Seton Hill

The Lady Bearcats scored seven unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes to secure a 12-7 win over crosstown rival Seton Hill University.

Seton Hill led 7-5 after a Stephanie Lazzaro goal with 15:21 left in the second half, but the Lady Bearcats stepped up and kept the visitors off the board while finding the net seven times to earn their first win of the season.

SVC got off to a strong start, with Sarah Peranteau scoring just over a minute into play.  Lauren Martino added a goal 12 minutes later, and the lead was 2-0 thanks to strong Saint Vincent defense.

However, Seton Hill's Elyse Branam scored two goals just 42 seconds apart to tie the game with 12 minutes left in the first half.   The Griffins then took their first lead of the game five minutes later after a Desiree Palmer goal.  With just under five minutes remaining in the half, Kelly Naugle scored to tie the game at three, but Seton Hill managed to score just 30 seconds later and took a 4-3 lead into the half.

SVC's Liz Louison scored her first goal of the game just over a minute into the second half, but the next two goals belonged to the Griffins, who took a 6-4 lead with 21:32 left.  Anne Roslonski scored for Saint Vincent less than 30 seconds later, but the Griffins responded with Lazzaro's goal to once again make it a two-goal game, 7-5.

Michelle Moss started the comeback for Saint Vincent at the 14:24 mark, then Louison took control, scoring the game's next four goals over a 5-minute span to put SVC ahead 11-7.  Martino's second goal of the day at the 5:59 mark ended the scoring.

Megan Vargo, who took over after Seton Hill's final goal of the day, earned the win in the net for the Lady Bearcats (1-2).

3/26 - IUP

The Lady Bearcats lost a road game to Indiana University of PA, by a score of 13-9.

Saint Vincent scored the game's first two goals, with both Michelle Moss and Liz Louison finding the net in the game's first three minutes.  IUP tied the game at 2-2 with 15:48 left in the half, but SVC retook the lead with a Kelly Naugle goal just 11 seconds later.  Naugle added another goal later in the half, but IUP outscored Saint Vincent 5-1 over the final 15 minutes to take a 7-4 lead at the half.

The game remained close thanks to goals from Louison, Emily Fedor and Lauren Martino, then a goal by Sarah Peranteau closed the gap to 10-8 with 14:45 remaining in the second half.  Just over a minute later, Louison scored her third goal of the game to make it a one-goal margin, but IUP kept Saint Vincent off the scoreboard for the final 13:40, posting three goals of their own en route to a 13-9 win.

IUP outshot Saint Vincent 33-17 on the day.  Goalie Erica Lisi recorded 10 saves in the net for Saint Vincent (1-4).  IUP improved to 1-5 with the win.

3/31 - Frostburg State

The Lady Bearcats overcame a late deficit to tie the game and send it to overtime before losing to Frostburg State by a score of 11-10 on the road in Maryland.

Saint Vincent's Liz Louison scored the game's first goal just over two minutes into play, and tallied another goal that, combined with a score from Michelle Moss, made it 3-1 early on.

After Frostburg tied the game at 3-3, Anne Roslonski scored with just under eight minutes left in the half, and SVC took a 4-3 advantage into the break.

The teams traded goals throughout much of the second half, with Frostburg taking a 9-8 lead with just one minute remaining in regulation.  However, with just 35 ticks left, Louison scored to send the game to overtime.

In the first full three minute overtime, Frostburg scored just 11 seconds into play, but Sarah Peranteau evened the game two minutes later to send it to a second, sudden death overtime.

Frostburg's Joanna McIntyre scored just over two minutes into the second extra "golden goal" period to lift the hosts to victory.

On the day, Louison recorded five goals and two assists to lead Saint Vincent (1-4).  Moss tallied two goals, while Roslonski, Peranteau, and Emily Fedor added goals.  Erica Lisi took the loss but recorded 10 saves in the net, while Megan Vargo had two saves.

4/5 - Wittenberg

The Lady Bearcats snapped their two-game losing streak with a 9-6 victory over visiting Wittenberg University.

Six different players scored at least one goal for Saint Vincent, paced by three from Liz Basile-Louison and two from Anne Roslonski, while goalie Erica Lisi made 13 saves, as the Lady Bearcats improved to 2-4 with the home win.

The Lady Bearcats got off to a fast start, with Emily Fedor scoring the game's first goal with 22:29 left in the opening half.  Just 20 seconds later, a Sarah Peranteau goal, assisted by Kelly Naugle, put the Lady Bearcats ahead 2-0.

Basile-Louison scored her first goal of the game at the 18:07 mark, and then a Naugle tally three minutes later pushed SVC's lead to 4-0.

After a time out, Wittenberg was able to regroup, storming back to score three unanswered goals in a three-minute span to pull to within 4-3 with just under 11 minutes left in the half.  Over the next 10 minutes, the game was a defensive struggle, until Basile-Louison scored her second goal of the game, with 30 seconds left in the half, to give the Lady Bearcats the 5-3 halftime advantage.

As was the case in the first half, the Lady Bearcats came out of the intermission with a fury, with Lauren Martino and Anne Roslonski scoring within the first eight minutes to push the SVC lead to 7-3 with 22 minutes left.   Roslonski then scored her second of the game three minutes later, giving SVC the five-goal lead.

After 16 minutes of scoreless play, Basile-Louison gave the Lady Bearcats their largest lead of the day - 9-3 - with her third goal of the game with just over three minutes left in regulation.  Wittenberg then rallied to put together a furious comeback attempt, scoring three goals over the final 1:50 of play, but it was too little, too late, as the Lady Bearcats held on for the home win.

Peranteau, Michelle Moss, and Judy Spelz shared the SVC team lead with three ground balls apiece. Sam Suranic caused three turnovers to pace the defense, while picking up a pair of ground balls.

4/7 - York

The Lady Bearcats were defeated in overtime, 6-5, by York College.

Sarah Peranteau led the SVC offense with two goals and an assist, while Liz Louison-Basile, Lauren Martino, and Ashton Mancuso also added goals for the Lady Bearcats.  Basile-Louison and Mancuso also had assists to finish with two-point days.

Peranteau, Mancuso, and Martino all scored in the first 15 minutes of play to give the Lady Bearcats a quick 3-1 lead.  After York scored with 11 minutes left in the half, Basile-Louison made it 4-2, off an assist from Mancuso, with 8:51 left in the first half.  York made it 4-3 two minutes later, and the Lady Bearcats entered the intermission up by one.

Peranteau's second goal of the day, assisted by Naugle, gave SVC the 5-3 advantage just three minutes into the second half, but York was again able to come back, tying the game up with two goals in a four minute span midway through the half.  The game remained deadlocked through the end of the second frame, and headed into overtime.

Neither team was able to find the net in the opening stages of the extra session, until York's Megan Foy scored the game-winner with just 15 seconds left in the first overtime.

Erica Lisi made nine saves in goal in the losing effort, while also picking up a game-high six ground balls.  Pereanteau added four ground balls and forced three turnovers.

4/15 - Waynesburg

The Lady Bearcats defeated the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets on the road by a score of 18-4. Saint Vincent scored the game's first eleven goals, en route to an 11-1 halftime lead.

Liz Basile-Louison had a seven-point day, scoring five goals and adding a pair of assists.  Kelly Naugle tallied six points, with three goals and three assists.  Sarah Perantau scored four goals and added one helper.

Michelle Moss and Anne Roslonski each scored two goals for Saint Vincent, while Lauren Martino and Ashton Mancuso added one goal each.  Mancuso also recorded three assists.

Erica Lisi worked the first half in the net, posting six ground balls, four saves and earning the win.  Freshman Jennifer Forsythe recorded two saves in the final 30 minutes of play.

4/18 - Notre Dame College

The Lady Bearcats lost a Senior Day matchup to Notre Dame College of Ohio by a score of 13-6.

The Falcons (8-3), jumped to an early 2-0 lead before Liz Basile-Louison connected for Saint Vincent seven minutes into the game.

It was a 3-1 NDC lead when Sarah Peranteau once again made it a one-goal game with just over 11 minutes left in the first half.

However, the visitors outscored Saint Vincent 5-1 over the remainder of the half, with a Basile-Louison goal the only bright spot for Saint Vincent (3-6).

Emily Fedor tallied the Lady Beracats' fourth goal of the game with a little over 23 minutes left, but Notre Dame would build the lead to 13-4 before Peranteau added a pair of late goals.

4/21 - Allegheny

Liz Basile-Louison scored a game-high seven goals, as the Lady Bearcats defeated Allegheny College 17-14 on the turf at Saint Vincent College.

The game was called due to weather with just under 12 minutes left in the second half, and by rule, it is counted as an official contest.

Kelly Naugle got the scoring underway early for the Lady Bearcats, taking the opening draw and streaking to goal untouched, firing a shot into the back of the net just 38 seconds into play.

Over the next seven minutes, Basile-Louison scored twice, and Naugle and Anne Roslonski once apiece, while Allegheny countered with five goals of their own as the game was tied at five just nine minutes into play.

The Lady Bearcats then went on a 5-2 run over the next 10 minutes, with Basile-Louison scoring three times and Sarah Peranteau twice, pushing the SVC lead to 10-6 with 10 minutes left in the opening stanza.  The two teams then traded goals over the final minutes of the half, with Peranteau scoring twice and Basile-Louison and Naugle each once for SVC, and the Lady Bearcats entered halftime with a 14-10 advantage.

Allegheny's Kiah Voyer-Colbath scored twice in the opening minute of the second half, pulling the Gators to within two, but goals from Basile-Louison and Roslonski gave SVC back its four-goal lead, 16-12, with 19 minutes left in regulation.

As the skies continued to darken and the steady rain showers intensified, SVC's Michelle Moss scored the Lady Bearcats' final goal of the day, sandwiched between a pair of scores from Allegheny's Meg Grossman.  Due to nearby lightning strikes and the rainy conditions, the officials then called the game with 11:23 left regulation.

Peranteau finished with four goals for the Lady Bearcats (4-6), while Naugle tallied three and Roslonski two.  Moss tallied a goal and an assist, while Roslonski and Lauren Martino each added helpers on the day.  Erica Lisi played the first 20 minutes in goal for the Lady Bearcats, finishing with four saves, while Jenn Forsyth came on in relief and recorded 10 saves in 29 minutes.

The seven goals by Basile-Louison were just one off the school's single-game record, shared by Shoko Asukura (2005) and Hannah Doblick (2003).

4/29 - W&J

In a game that wasn't decided until the closing minute, the Lady Bearcats were defeated 8-7 at Washington & Jefferson.

The Presidents scored two goals over the final five minutes, including the game-winner with just 40 seconds left, to hand SVC the season-ending defeat.

The game was back-and-forth throughout, with the teams trading goals throughout the first half.  Sarah Peranteau and Anne Roslonski each scored twice in the opening 30 minutes, with Roslonskis coring with just a minute left in the half, to put SVC up 4-3 at halftime.

After W&J scored just three minutes into the second half, Peranteau and Kelly Naugle answered with quick goals for the Lady Bearcats to give them the two-goal lead, 6-4, with 16 minutes left in regulation.

The Presidents' then scored twice over a 50-second span to it at six with 15 minutes left, and the game remained deadlocked until the 8:52 mark, when Liz Basile-Louison gave SVC the 7-6 lead.

W&J's Brittany Oake tied the game two minutes later, and then with just 40 seconds remaining in the second half, she scored the decisive gamewinner.

Peranteau led the Lady Bearcats with three goals, while Roslonski finished the night with two tallies.  Naugle ended with a three-point game, picking up two assists to go with her goal, while Ashton Mancuso and Michelle Moss each tallied one assist apiece.  Oake paced the Presidents' by scoring five of their seven goals.

Erica Lisi was strong in goal, recording 19 saves in her last game in an SVC uniform, as W&J owned a 34-18 advantage in shots.
