The Lady Bearcats snapped their two game losing streak with a 16-12 win over visiting Washington & Jefferson. Lauren Eller scored five goals while adding two assists to lead SVC, while Liz Louison scored four times and Megan Sekinger and Cassie Alberding each had a pair of goals. The Lady Bearcats started strong, taking a 4-0 lead just 10 minutes into play, on two goals by Louison and one each from Eller and Sekinger. The Presidents' Nikki Lu put W&J on the scoreboard with 18:30 left in the half, but Eller and Brittany Concepcion scored within the next five minutes to push SVC's lead to 6-1. After another W&J goal, SVC's Michelle Moss went coast-to-coast to score, putting the Lady Bearcats ahead 7-2. Eller scored two more times in the half, and Alberding netted her first, and the Lady Bearcats led 10-5 at halftime. The Lady Bearcats continued to build onto the lead in the opening stages of the second half, as Sekinger, Sarah Peranteau, and Alberding scored in the first 12 minutes to give the hosts a 13-6 lead with just under 18 minutes remaining. Louison and Lu then each scored twice over the next 10 minutes, and the Lady Bearcats led 15-8 with eight minutes left. W&J ended with a flurry, outscoring SVC 4-1 over the final seven minutes, but their early deficit was too much for the Presidents to overcome, and the Lady Bearcats earned the win. Louison also assisted on a goal, ending up with a five-point day, while Peranteau and Erika Haggerty also added helpers for the Lady Bearcats. Erika Lisi went the distance in goal to earn the win. Lu had a strong day for W&J, scoring five goals, while teammate Shannon Rainey scored twice. With the win, Saint Vincent improves to 4-2 on the year, while W&J falls to 2-4 in its inaugural season of women's lacrosse. The Lady Bearcats return to action on Thursday, hosting Frostburg State at 4pm.
