The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association has announced that the 2009 Lady Bearcats have earned IWLCA Academic Squad honors. Teams with a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or higher earn the Academic Squad recognition, and Saint Vincent, coached by Tom Harbert, is just one of 62 Division-III teams nationwide to be honored. "This award is just a true testament to the type of women we have on our team," Harbert said. "Being a Division-III school, academics are the primary focus for our athletes, and to receive a national honor like this is well deserved. I'm really proud of our team." It's the second academic honor received by a team coached by Harbert, as the 2008 Lady Bearcat cross country squad had 11 runners receive Presidents' Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition, the most of any SVC varsity sports team.
