The Lady Bearcats snapped their two-game losing streak with a 9-6 victory over visiting Wittenberg University.

Six different players scored at least one goal for Saint Vincent, paced by three from Liz Basile-Louison and two from Anne Roslonski, while goalie Erica Lisi made 13 saves, as the Lady Bearcats improved to 2-4 with the home win.

The Lady Bearcats got off to a fast start, with Emily Fedor scoring the game's first goal with 22:29 left in the opening half.  Just 20 seconds later, a Sarah Peranteau goal, assisted by Kelly Naugle, put the Lady Bearcats ahead 2-0.

Basile-Louison scored her first goal of the game at the 18:07 mark, and then a Naugle tally three minutes later pushed SVC's lead to 4-0.

After a time out, Wittenberg was able to regroup, storming back to score three unanswered goals in a three-minute span to pull to within 4-3 with just under 11 minutes left in the half.  Over the next 10 minutes, the game was a defensive struggle, until Basile-Louison scored her second goal of the game, with 30 seconds left in the half, to give the Lady Bearcats the 5-3 halftime advantage.

As was the case in the first half, the Lady Bearcats came out of the intermission with a fury, with Lauren Martino and Anne Roslonski scoring within the first eight minutes to push the SVC lead to 7-3 with 22 minutes left.   Roslonski then scored her second of the game three minutes later, giving SVC the five-goal lead.

After 16 minutes of scoreless play, Basile-Louison gave the Lady Bearcats their largest lead of the day - 9-3 - with her third goal of the game with just over three minutes left in regulation.  Wittenberg then rallied to put together a furious comeback attempt, scoring three goals over the final 1:50 of play, but it was too little, too late, as the Lady Bearcats held on for the home win.

Peranteau, Michelle Moss, and Judy Spelz shared the SVC team lead with three ground balls apiece. Sam Suranic caused three turnovers to pace the defense, while picking up a pair of ground balls.

Wittenberg (4-2), like Saint Vincent, boasted a balanced scoring attack, with six different players accounting for the Tigers' six goals.  Lizzie Amorello turned in a two-point day, scoring a goal and adding an assist, while Hannah Walsh grabbed a game-high four ground balls.  Jenny Shaafsma and Bonnie Kenny shared the work in goal, each recording four saves.

The Lady Bearcats will now return to action on Tuesday, traveling to York College for a 2pm contest.
