Behind eight points from Lauren Eller, the Lady Bearcats defeated visiting Fontbonne University 15-7. Eller scored five goals and added three assists, while teammate Liz Louison scored three goals and Sarah Peranteau, Megan Sekinger and Cassie Alberding two apiece. Eller put Saint Vincent on the board with a goal just two minutes into play, and then assisted on goals by Peranteau and Alberding, putting the Lady Bearcats up 3-0 just five minutes into play. The visiting Griffins then scored a pair of quick goals, before the Lady Bearcats answered with a flurry. Eller scored her second of the day with 15 minutes to go, and then Louison and Peranteau found the back of the net within the next two minutes to give SVC a 6-2 lead. Eller then notched the hat trick with 8:30 to go, putting SVC up 7-2, and Sekinger scored her first goal of the game three minutes later. Fontbonne's Danielle Donze ended the scoring for the first half, and the Lady Bearcats took an 8-3 lead into halftime. SVC started the second half in the same fashion as they did the first, with Kelly Naugle scoring off of an assist from Peranteau just 40 seconds into play, giving the Lady Bearcats a 9-3 advantage. SVC then went up 11-3 after Eller scored two goals in a span of 90 seconds. Neither team then found the net for 12 minutes before Fontbonne's Emily Spalding scored with 15:13 left to play, but SVC again answered in a big way. Sekinger's second goal made it 12-4 with 14:54 left to go before Alberding's second was sandwiched between a pair of Louison scores, giving the Lady Bearcats their largest lead of the day, 15-4, with 12 minutes left in regulation. Fontbonne then posted a late rally, with Katie Radeackar scoring twice and Emily Schallenberg once, but it wasn't enough, and the Lady Bearcats earned the win.
SVC's defense was also strong, allowing just 14 shots on goal over the 60 minutes. Starting Lady Bearcat goalie Erica Lisi earned the win, making seven saves. With the win, its third straight, SVC improves to 6-2 on the season. The victory also caps off a perfect season at home, as the Lady Bearcats have won all six games played at Saint Vincent. The Lady Bearcats will now conclude the regular season with four straight away games, and they return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Allegheny College for a 4pm contest.
