The Lady Bearcats were defeated 3-0 by visiting Frostburg St. University on the Saint Vincent turf. The visiting Bobcats' offense was on the attack from the early going, and took the 1-0 lead in the seventh minute, on an unassisted blast by Amanda Wharton from 15 yards out. Frostburg jumped in front 2-0 exactly 20 minutes into the opening half, with Lauren Russell finding the upper corner of the net. The game remained 2-0 Bobcats through the remainder of the first half, thanks to a solid performance in goal by SVC sophomore goalie Kirstie Mills, as she made seven stops over the first 45 minutes to keep the game close. Five minutes into the second half, Frostburg's Cassie Donahue gave the visitors a third insurance goal, converting on a breakaway from eight yards out. Donahue's goal was the last of the game, as Mills made eight more stops over the second half, finishing with 15 for the game, a career high. For the contest, the Bobcats owned a 30-6 advantage in shots, and FSU took eight corner kicks to the Lady Bearcats' one. Saint Vincent (1-5) will return to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Mount Union College for a 2pm kickoff.
